Didn't really show it on the car just mentioned, thought it was cool, though.

It mentioned that it has a special deflector to get rid of the raspy sound. From the Horsepower TV spoke person. "It'll give your 3.8 a big block sound." It had a special square piece welded to the I-pipe, looked like some sort of resonator.

The resonator probably helps muffle the sound a little better because really, that 80 series is too much for our cars to sound how that muffler was intented to.

I just saw that too! Too bad they didn't give the part number for it. If they did, I missed it.

it's a resonator. the resonator is in the box and is shaped like a horseshoe. it makes for a longer resonator length to deepen and quiet more of the exhaust. no, it didn't sound like a big block, but is was deep. they didn't rev it very high, so i dunno what it would sound like at redline.

I saw that too and was wondering if anybody had the catback with that box as well. I haven't seen that one before.

Anyone have a soundclip? lol If it sounds good enough I may just replace my borla with that because I hate this block off plate.

Resonators like that do help with the sound but they hurt power sometimes, I made a dump for mine using a turn down and blowing a hole in the pipe before the cat, and welding a cap on and it made it rumble more but it hurt speed somewhat.

The guy that had a new Flowmaster catback w/ resonator installed on his car is a member here, Arnaldo. http://www.splmeter.com/94camaro.html That is the site I made for the new Flowmaster 173565 2.5 inch catback (3.4 version instead of 3.8). All part numbers are listed on the above site. ;)

The 3.8 sound clip sounds identical to the 5.7L Camaro sound clip. Maybe it's just me?
