• Does anybody make a clear lid for the V6 F-Bodies?

I know MTI makes clear lids for the LS1s, but does anybody make a clear lid for the V6?

    Thanks

Over $400 to make *A* lid and you'd have to make and supply the mold! My Father-in-law is the VP of Sales for Plastico in Memphis and you know I've already looked into it! :D Most plastic companies won't make molds for the customer unless it's a HUGE project and you're going to spends TONS of money! ;) Clear plastic requires different chemicals to increase it's strength and with that is the added cost.

      Good luck!

Well, if it makes anybody feel better, I called MTI and there wasn't any optimism in making a clear lid for the V6. And, they realize they are the only maker of clear lids for the V8. Even if the mold is $400, the plastic has to be like $2. At $160, it doesn't sound like it would take long to make a profit.

They are not the only ones making the clear lid for the LS1s. Texas Speed just came out with black, smoked, clear, and carbon fiber designs that actually outflow some of the better lids out there. Thats what im getting when I get my LS1 in.
