• Edelbrock Catback - GOT IT!!!!

ok my Edelbrock Catback system just arrived!!!!

taking it to Advanced Muffler to get it installed tomorrow, but before I do this....

....I would like to know if I should remove my cat? would this cuase any problems? would it aid in performance?

Removal of you catalytic converter is illegal in all 50 states i believe...it is in illinois DOT.

cat can only be removed if its malfunctioning, cracked, rusted, cant pass polution test, ect.

If you take it off, yes it will help, by how much im not sure, exhaust will be LOUD, but you WILL NOT pass pollution test.

After hearing all that make ur own decision

I just got a cut out :D

Actually with a gutted cat I did pass jersey emissions (sure I turned the boost a pump to 0% and afpr down really low)
Keep the cat on.
Edlebrock does need a break in time

Maybe a month of normal driving?
Depends on how much you drive.
Add high flow cat, headers and converter and it is frigin loud!!!!
I get headaches now :D

no headers for me....MAYBE a high flow cat....and there is a slim chance I'll get a converter.

Once i get the catback installed tomorrow i'll be waiting on the gears to arrive, install em'....then im installing the n20 kit....once that is done.....im searching for an LT1, so no more V6 mods.
