  • Installing a 3" catco

i have a 95 3.4l with the cheap-o pacesetter catback exhaust system (3" pipes). I just bought the SLP CAI for my car and now i'm going to replace the cat. I was looking at that auctionworks site since that one appears to be the cheapest, and i had a question. The site says
"IF your orginal converter has an O2 sensor in it, such as some chryslers and others, you will need to purchase an O2 sensor bung to be installed in front of the converter!"

Do i need an O2 sensor bung, or do i just buy the cat, rip the old one out and put this one up?

My 02 sensor is in the pipe AFTER the cat, but some of the older 4th gens may be different.

Just buy the cat and get it welded on. It may throw a code, so you may have to get an O2 sim.

The post-cat O2 sensor is located in the S-pipe just after the cat.

since the webpage is fixed i took a look at the technical database again:

"The 95 L36 marked the debut of OBD-II (On Board Diagnostic system, second generation) in the V6 F-Body. The OBD-II system included 4 oxygen sensors: one in each exhaust manifold, one in the Y-pipe before the catalytic converter, and one in the intermediate pipe just after the catalytic converter. Brakes, driveshaft, steering rack, and sway bars were identical to models of earlier years."

Since my car is a 95 3.4l and not the 3.8l, does that mean there are no sensors whatsoever (no wonder i wasn't sure what you guys were talking about)?
