• CIA vs RK sport (headers)

Assuming I had the rksport headers welded to the y-pipe...

which is better performance wise? CIA or RK sport. Are they equal? What does everyone think?

I am NOT looking for info on the difficulty of install or the tendancy of rksport headers to leak. Lets just assume they are installed right.

My guess would be you would see about the same gains across the board with either one its just more of a convenience thing!

I'm pretty sure the RK's have bigger primaries than the CIA headers.

Heres the descrip I got when I asked about the CIA headers, if you want to use it as comparison against the RKs:

The headers are a mid-length 3 into 1 design with 1 1/2" primaries into 2 1/2" collectors. They come ceramic coated inside and out. The Y-pipe is available for the auto or manual tranny, dual 2 1/2" from the collectors into a single 3" outlet. Collector gaskets and nuts and bolts as well as header bolts are included. The header gaskets are not as our manufacturer does not offer them. The total cost including shipping is $670.00. The fabrication is done by hand to order.
One custom, Eric Bigelow on the V6 forums did testing but never sent me the results. The improvement would also depend on other mods, programming, location (atmosphere), etc. It's very hard to say from car to car. Do some research on the forums and digests. There are about a dozen owners running our headers.

Can't believe they can get away with charging so much for V6 headers. What a rip off.

Tell me about it. It is totally bs that a decent set of headers is that much money. You can get Hooker long tubes for ls1 cars cheaper. Maybe if no one bought any headers from them they would get cheaper?

Hopefully the rksport headers turn out to be quality.

That's why I rather wait until pacesetter comes out with their headers.

You will get about the same gains from both all the rksport seems to flow more if you compare the primary size.

The only deal needed on the rksport headers is to weld the ypipe to the 2 bolt flanges to avoid leaks.

If you have an a4 you should not buy these headers, you should spend the money on a converter and get a faster et.

The only other gain other than 5-10 hp from either header is the sound. You should see the prices on go fast parts for vettes 1000 bux for headers
