Yes 3.4liters have a different method but us. We have a little gasket type thing we put in there so the coolant won't flow to that part so the warm coolant wont heat up the airflow. It probably costs under $10 for the gasket and a little time to do. It's worth it if one of your goals is to keep your car as cool as possible. It probably won't add any performance as far as I know just help you gain it by cooler air. I think it's worth it. I also seen some kind of cable blocking it that you can move back a little bit I think. Not sure on that one. Maybee a couple of people that have done this can help better then I can.
