I have a bad rattling sound under my passenger side (obviously it must be the cat), is it going bad? I have a 72,000 on my 99 camaro. I read on other posts and people say that one sign of the cat going bad is it's rattling? Is this true or is it BS? I've already did a search on the site and can't find anything.

your car doesn't run at optimum, your emissions are gonna be bad, and depending on what the exact problem is, it could cause other emissions equipment to go out after a while.you can\'t get off if you don\'t get on

mine was bad and i heard rattling prior to realizing it...it stopped the exhaust flow by about 95%, i had to take it out and gut it...not smart, i later learned that you can take it to a gm dealer and have it replaced for free up to 8 years/80k miles...so get it fixed for free, unless you want the same problem as i have now...luckily i got a cat for really cheap, it is being welded in as we sit here now! hopefully it will be fixed now!
avoid the cat game!!!
