header bolt stuck in block

  • header bolt stuck in block

    on the passenger side it was leaking quite a bit. so i tried to tighten the bolts down and then go for the y-pipe. well, i got em all tightened except one broke off. it is in there! like id say about a 1/4" in. how am i suppossed to get it out? do i have to remove the header for this or can it stay on? HELP

    i had one break on me, i did not remove the header and i got me a right angle drill from a friend and a reverse drill bit and backed it out that way, but mine was only flush with the block, dont know how bad yours is...sorry if this dont help

      yup this will be your only way to get it out of there.

        You mean that you roke off one of the bolts that bolts the header on the engine? If so, thats not the engine block thats the head. You could try to get a "Screw-out" tool. That might help. If not a last resort would be maybe drill a drill bit in there and retap it. Hoping that it doesnt collide with another passageway in the head. Good luck though. ;)
