And damn does it sound good. I can't believe the difference it made in exhaust note.
I bought some 4" aluminum metal dryer duct (someone else with a 98 recomended this) and used it to connect the lid to TB. Then I just put a hole in the side for the air sensor and thats it. I need to get a little better connection but it sure was worth $8 for the dryer duct.
Ok, now I'm thinking maybe this was a bad idea. My ses light came on last night and it might be from this. If I don't have a great seal around the TB or where the sensor goes in could this cause the ses light to come on? Or is the dryer duct just a bad idea? If I can get it to work I'll try get some pics, it looks sweet. I hope it works cause the exhaust is sooooo deep now. Anyone else use dryer duct without problems?
If I were you I'd just put the rubber tubing that came with it back on, and get a piece of 3" PVC pipe to go in place of where the air silencer was. It works a lot better.

my friend has a '98 camaro and I was going to try and do this the other day when he was in town....whoa, the '98s are wierd. you can't do the pvc pipe thing because of the whacked out way that it is angled. i would suggest leaving the stock tubing on that goes from the lid to the air silencer so you have the air temp sensor already in place, then use the dryer duct to connect from there to the TB.
Yeah TheBeast is right. The rubber on the back of the silencer is all crazy and the angle of the TB sucks. I've been thinking about this for a while and said screw it I'm giving it a try. One problem is the aluminum gets hot fast but it looks good and isn't gonna melt. Beast, thats a good idea. I was thinking about using the front rubber piece but was to much effort at the time. This morning the ses light was on when I started up the first time for a minute then later it was off. Probably just doesn't like the way I have it set up. I'll see if I can get my friends camera again and take a pic.
The 98's really stink because of the turned down throttle body but anyway you could try to get a 4" piece of PVC and do things that way. I ordered a Wisper lid and cant wate for it to come, I hope it makes the exhaust deaper since I am keeping the stock one till it falls off.

What about mounting a nitrous nozzle? I just got a 5176 NOS kit and it should be on its way in a while. I was gonna put my sensor in the lid like I saw someone else here do but I might just go with the stock rubber piece for the sensor then I can place the nozzle there. Guess I should find out how far away the nozzle should be from the maf though.
