Ok you guys, now I'm positive that I've seen threads about this before, but I couldn't get my hands on one so I'm going to reask the question. Now, I have a 98 firebird with pacesetter headers. The gaskets that I got with the headers I didn't soak in water and they started leaking, so I need to replace them. Anyway, I ordered some Fel-pro which are horrible and now I semi recall hearing about some from www.gmpartsdirect.com item number 24506009. Is this what I need for the headers? Let me know ASAP you guys! Thanks

I bought some from intense racing. They are listed under the gasket section. Mine came packages in GM plastic, so I guess they are GM ones, but they look totally different than my stock L36 ones. They seem to work well, they might be the stock L67 gastkets.

RedFrk13, have those gaskets from intense leaked at all for you? I think I'm going to try those next.
Also has anyone tried high temp RTV?

My headers have been on and off several times, so I developed a cheap trick that works for header gaskets.

GO to Oreilly or autozone and get a sheet of "Mr. Gasket" gasket paper. Make sure you get the white kind that looks like your original pacesetter header gasket. It costs like $6 bucks.

Take the old gasket and lay it on top of the new gasket. Trace the old one on to the new one with a razor. finish cutting out the new gasket and make sure it matches properly with the header flange.

For six dollars and 15 minutes you can have brand new header gaskets.

I have 2 sets here (4 gaskets total). Drop me a line and we can discuss pricing. I cannot do it on the board because I am not a paying advertiser (sponsor) yet.
