  • anybody know approx. HP gains?

I am goint ot do my full exhaust and CAI, and maybe headers also, depending on the gains. I will be going with a Catco high flow cat and the adjustable Borla cat-back system, and the SLP CAI. How much HP can I expect to gain with these being the performance mods? Also, how much more HP would some headers add if I put them on also? Thanks for the help guys.

    James

5-10 horse power.. I have the headers, catco3inch and flowmaster 80 seris cat back and I bet you all that free'd up was about 8 horse power and maybe 15-20 ft lbs of tourque.. It might not sound like alot but that is a 8hp gain throughout the rpm range.. I have nitrous so thats where the big gains from the exaust are found.. If you ever decide to go on the bottle or supercharger when thats were the exaust is going to pay off..

I agree with 99maro.. It is worth getting the full exaust if you plan on running boost or nitro like us.. I tell you what having headers makes the flowmast more deep sounding and its cool as hell having headers because It is not to common on v6's..

Full exhaust w/ headers and intake, i would guess 15-20hp. Somebody on here not too long ago showed a dyno gain of 7hp just from a cat-back exhaust. With headers and intake as well, i would have to hope you're at least pushing 20.

          edit: think this was it:

I doubt I gained any more then 10 hp.. The advantage of having a full exaust with headers is when and if you want to add a power adder it will be a full free flow exaust which if you have a 75 shot like me with stock manifolds and stock cat I maybe gained 65 horsepower from the nitrous but with the headers and catco and cat back I gained close if not all the 75 horsepower and a but loads of tq.. It is a lot more tq then before.. I wont be sure until I get the car dynoed but it is worth the money for the headers for the sound and for the performance down the road...

i felt like i gained a bunch more than 7 with my B&B, let alone the whisper lid- havent done headers or cat yet, but i feel live gained 15 already and im lookin to be about 5-10 more with headers and 3"/ no cat

The only way to tell for sure is to get the car dynoed.. I felt a lot from the whisper lid, and from the headers.. I still think that from the intake and the full exaust I gained no more then 20 horsepower but the torque is what you feel .. I bet that I gained 30-40 ftlbs.. If you go onto Stefans website he dynoed his car without the full exaust and then dynoed with it..

remember, his 95 is a 3.8 which means he gained more

refer to this article. they test a B&B and it shows gains of like 15 or something just on the catback

Thanks for the info guys, it was exactly what I was looking for. I am still debating on whether or not I should save my money for 4 months and buy a Trans AM or not. Right now I am thinking that I will. The only problem isn't I don't want to spend a ton of time trying to take out my stereo stuff, the neon tube I put on, and the rims, but I also don't want ot sell the car with those on it, so we'll see what happens.
