• Leakage?

After I had my CIA headers installed, I've had a "ticking" sort of sound when the motor is under load. Particularly at part throttle, harder to notice at WOT, nothing at all at idle.

I took the car back and had the guy who did the work drive it around, and he said that's just what headers sound like because they're not designed to be quiet. Is that BS?

If anyone else who has CIA headers could respond with whether or not they have ticking noise at part throttle, that'd be great.

whats up when I installed headers I welded mine from the header to the y-pipe. The fact i hear there is a leakage problem. Besides that you want to check your bolts from the headers to the engine. From what I read the engines get hot and cold constantly. From the heat and cold the bolts start to get loose. You might want to check the bolts. I am not sure that thats the problem but check it out.

      Will do...

So ticking noise = leaks...that guy who said everything was fine was giving me a big steaming piece of BS about how headers always make those sounds...got it.

      Thanks

Ya hes giving you the old fashioned BS. Since it doesn't seem as loud from what you said, its probally only 1 side leaking. Rev it up from under the hood and find what side is leaking.

        Make him replace the gasket.
