I was looking at SLP Loudmouth for my 3.8 Firebird, how do people get this, it says it is only for the 5.7s. What mods do you have to do for it to fit?? And if i couldnt scrape up the money could i find a deep sounding muffler for my bird instead, what are your suggestions for this and what brand, etc?? Or something like straight pipes kinda like the SLP.

Probably the pipes are just a little bigger and you will have to do some fitting in there. I'm sure it "can" be done. I would say to just get a good borla or flow 80 series

I got flow 80-series and it has worked out really well for me-it sounds agressive and has a nice rumble. The performance increase has been noticeable, especially accelerating from speed. This is with stock pipes. I've said this to a couple other people too: you're going to have a little trouble changing the pipes on the '96 and above becuase of the O2 sensor in the stock pipes (many muffler shops will not want to do anything with sensors.)If you're doing it yourself, be careful with this-if your O2 sensor is not working right your engine will not run correctly

my 2 cents, I would recommend flowmaster, not an expensive Borla

You have to relocate the passenger side mounting bracket and that's it. Your muffler guy can do that in about 2 minutes.
