  • Screwed Up My Muffler I Think

I was driving and went to a stop sign, and there were about six eleven year old kids and they were all like, "holy **** nice CAR!" and I was like, "thanks" and I strted pulling away, and this little wench goes, "too bad you're ugly" and I slammed on my breaks, threw it in to reverse in a flurry, and my car reversed REALLY fast (I haev a 5 speed) and made a few chugging noises) and when I took off, after shoutnig a few choice phrases at the good for nothing father wearing underwear ignoring the kids playing on the road, I squealed my tires a little bit, and my muffler now sounds like its modified and it makes a really heavy growling noise, like...x2 of a Trans Am almost.

My mom thinks that I got a hole in my muffler beacuse I hit something when I was reversing, but...I'm scared, and I'd liek to have some ideas before I get it fixed on monday.

I'm no expert on exhaust or anything but I had a 94 firebird that one day started making loud noises. I looked under the car and discovered the catalytic converter had almost pulled out of one side of the exhaust pipe where it was clamped. I must have bottomed out or something to pull it apart like that.

Did you run over anything? I'd check for a loose fitting or rust holes

Best thing to do is get ready to get dirty! Git under that car! Scared of a little dirt? Hmm? J/K, but get under there when the car is cooled off and check for any loose fittings (just make sure the car won't come crashing down on your grape!)

It's not obnoxiously loud, but it sounds like a modified exhaust system. I almost like it, but it scaers me as I don't know WHY it's doing that.
