I did not install the large rubber block-off on the front of my airbox when i installed my cai. Posts from the past had left me undecided of the the benefit. My concern and question regards air temp and performance. Should i consider blocking off the air box seasonally? i currently can really feel the performance difference only at night when it is cool outside.

Thanks,

For the best performance, you want a sealed airbox. I highly recommend you look at our SLP ram air upgrade kit. It will convert your SLP cold air kit into a true ram air kit. Details can be seen on your website.

Oz- Here's my take on the sealed airbox, the way I see it if your forcing air into your engine with the scoop, having your airbox unsealed would let excess pressure out of the intake instead of forcing it into the engine.
Whats going on with this SLP upgrade?? What exactly does it do?
Yeah im sure some company can honestly come up with a ram ar idea that is professional, i understand hood clearance issues but come on some engineer has to be compitent enough to do this, i know som company can make one for 95-97 guys if they have ss hood because the ss hod offers more hood clearance

Man, I wish somebody would post some replies to that ram air upgrade.

I did not install the large rubber block-off cause i wanted to keep the front end ram-air online. I've been told that the SLP CAI is not a ram air upgrade. So i did not think it was forcing air, like suggested in the qoute above. Is this info wrong?
Now i'm getting mixed signals
Should i install the rubber block-off or not?
