  • Paging DEE:

Hey DEE, I put the TB Spacer on that I bought from Only4u, and I totally cleaned the TB because the back of it was full of soot. Well, after I put everything back together, I started it up and it threw a SES light and was idling normal until I hit the throttle then it went up to 2k and stayed there until I shut it off. Do you thing it's because I cleaned the TB out? After I cleaned it, the inside was shining like new, but there was a little more space between the butterfly and the TB housing. I thought maybe it's lettling more air through, so that may be why it's idling so high. After a few minutes of starting it up again, the SES went out, but it's still idling high, and there are no vaccuum leaks because I checked.
Did you or anyone else have this problem?

what year is your car? I had to bend the bracket on my 97 to achieve normal idle with the tb spacer I can take a pic and send it to you if you like. mine idle at 2k until I bent the bracket to where it would sit down on the tb like it is oe.

I have a 96 3.8. I didn't bend the bracket, I just drilled another hole in it to make the TB bolt match. Send me a picture though, I may have missed something. Thanx!
