for some reason ever since it snowed my passenger side exhaust pipe rattler from time to time. When I put the car on reverse I hear a rattle, then when I am driving only one out of every 20 takeoffs I hear a rattle, then sometimes while just driving semi hard I hear a rattle. It is not very loud but I can hear it. I am not sure what it is, is it the cold weather affecting the exhaust?? maybe my rough idle thanks to an oil leak in my intake manifold. Or does it need new hangers?? my exhaust shop redid that side one week after I got it installed, it was a lil shaky but they put an extra hanger on, I dont want to drive 20 mins down to chantilly just for them to check it out again and have me wait 1 hour to reweld it?
any ideas on the problem?? anyone have this happen to them in the winter?

yes, but its not my right tailpipe, its the broken insides of my cat rattling around and the sound travels and comes out the right tailpipe.

i've been getting a similar rattle only when its cold and i start up in the morning or my car sits for a couple hours. it only happens when its cold and its the worst when i'm stopped and its still in drive. i thought it might be the transmission but when i think about it, it might be becasue the pipes are cold they have somekind of reaction to the exhaust heat, but when the car warms up it stops. it never did it when the exhaust was stock, now i have 3" coming from the stock headers. it makes me so mad ahhhhhhh

Low rpm's, my exhaust rattles. u guys should check the clearances in the back, maybe put a little padding on the areas that the exhaust might be hitting, and see if it still rattles. then check the welds on the exhaust to see if the pipes are loose. then, if it's still rattling, it's prolly the cat and ur gonna have to replace it soon. My cat got cracked and had to replace it, as well as the y-pipe fromt the manifolds. good thing it's still on the 5-year-550k emissions warranty, or else it'll cost ya about 500 to get it fixed, at least it was for me.

Could also just be the heat shield(I think that is what it is called) on your cat that is loose. Mine was loose, the shop that did my exhaust tightened it for free. It was pretty much the same symptons, but it rattled warm and/or cold. The weather might not have anything to do with it, could just be a coincednce.

if its coming from the back of your exhaust system its more than likely your hanger anyhwere close to the passanger door, its your cat
i highly doubt its the heat shield
your best bet check your hangers
im pretty sure thats where the problems lies
