  • Quick quarter mile question

i have a whisper lid, SSRA, and a flowmaster muffer. Right now my car runs a 15.4 in the quarter. I just ordered my pacesetter ceramic coated headers, a JET stage 2 Power Control Module, and a Hypertech 160 Degree Thermostat. With all of the things i have just ordered can i expect a quarter mile time of 14.9 or better?

I'd say yes, as long as your 60' is pretty good. Do some free weight reduction(take out back seats/seat belts, jack, spare tire) and watch your tire pressure and you should get a good time. Good luck!

Do you have a 3" cat back? Generally if you have 3.42's an LSD. Headers, catback, and Intake you should run high 14's but then again it depends on how good a driver you are. RT and 60' must be good, as previously stated.

to get into the 14's all you really need is a mph of 89ish. as long as you can get a good launch, a 60ft of 2.10 or better, you can get into the 14's easily.
with your mods it sounds liek you shoudl have plenty of mph to get it done, now work on getting it all to the ground.

Here is one of my time slips:
                R/T - 1.003
                60 - 2.168
                330 - 6.355
                1/8 - 9.798
                MPH - 71.66
                1000 - 12.773
                1/4 - 15.313
                MPH - 88.74

And yes i know that my reaction time sucked lol

If you are just wanting to get your car in the high 14's don't worry about your R/T. Let the light turn green and concentrate on your launch for a good 60' time. Your R/T has nothing to do with your elapsed time.

Of course you won't beat the car next to you but if you just want to concentrate on getting a good time forget the light. Once you get the time you want then you can concentrate on putting all the pieces together (R/T, 60', 1/4, trap speed, etc).
SLP CAI, K&N, Whisper Lid, 180* thermo, manual fan switch, 3.42 gears, Auburn Pro LSD, Wester\'s PCM Tuning, TSP Rumbler, High Flow Cat. Best Time: 9.909@71.58 (1/8 mile)

btw r/t has nothing to do with your E.T. time doesn't start till you cross the line anyway.
