  • Holley Vs. K&N

Ok, what are your opinions on each companies air filter for the 3.8? I have heard GREAT things about the Holley, but not sure of the price, and pretty much good things all around of the K&N. What do you think?

I've had both. I'm leaning more towards Holley because they fit better and they have more filter surface than K&N.

Also heard that the Holley allows more air to flow through

It really depends on what year 3.8 you have. I prefer Holley All the way around though. It flow a little better and you'll continually find that it is cheaper in price for the same quality/hp increase that the K&N offers if not more. The Holley is really nice with aftermarket lid fitment because it doesn't have that stupid foam "fitter" to go around the filter. This and price are the main reasons I went with the Holley.

They both come pre-oiled with basically the same oil. The problem occurs when a person cleans and recharges the filter and they over-oil it. This could happen with either filter. I have a K&N in my 96 V6 and a Holley in my 01 SS. I use the same K&N recharge kit on both and I have never had any problems.
