3 1/2" tips is what I have and is what I was reccomended. I would also go with either a Flowmaster or something like it. They are not that loud, so you should be pretty happy with it IMO. Personally, I am not a big fan of the Borla on V6's, but to each his own. Make sure you listen to sound clips, for exhaust is a pricey mod to change around!

For performance or sound, I'd always recommend the 3" conversion. Some people will tell you that you need backpressure -yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, but you're going to get some backpressure no matter what (unless you shot straight outtat the manifolds...) so the 3" is an advantage, even if you don't race her.

For which one paricularly, I dunno, thats your sound preference. Performance is pretty much the same either way.

So if I were to switch over to 3" tips would I get more back pressure? Would the 3" help me that much better over the 3 1/2"?

I have a flowmaster 3inch cat back and I think it's plenty too loud for me. I'm not gonna stick up for it just because I have it. A lot of times it sounds annoying. I love the way it sounds but I don't like my car to be obnoxious either. I'm not a big fan of a lot of other exhausts out there either but I do like the B&B and I would go with that.

The 2.5/3" dia. that he's referring to is the actual catback piping diameter, not the tips. If you got the V6 flowmasters, then you probably have 2.5" piping. The tip size isn't going to affect flow (unless you go smaller than pip size) but they do have some affect on sound.
Personally, I love my flowmasters. They're cheap and sound pretty good. The B&B and Borla are overpriced and dont yield any noticeable horsepower change. I'd check out flowmaster, Magnaflows, and Edelbrock. If you dont want something very loud, try a Z28 take-off; it'll give the extra flow without really increasing the volume.

the difference between a 2.5 and a 3" exhaust is mainley this... the 2.5 is going to get horsepower maxed out faster.. but the 3 will give it to you over a longer period but more of it. so i would say 2.5, that is what i will being going with by the end of the week when i put my headers on,
