  • slp filter location - is the air cooler??

in that hole where you put the slp cai air filter, is the air actually cooler than in the engine compartment?

I do think so. Bringing air up from underneath has to be cooler than the air in the engine bay. I have noticed performance improvement with my SLP cai, especially after i installed a jet stage 2.
My current question is with the ram air feature on my y2k bird. Should i use the large rubber block off and seal the air box? or should i let air come in from the front as well as from underneath. I've heard of people raising their airbox and stuff like that to get more air. Why would i want to seal the box?

I would say yes, but again no proof.

I took off the plastic piece thats under the car so you can see the filters if you look under the car, i think that might of helped the air a bit.

I also screwed around and made a little ram air duct thing and realized it helped a bit when i was picking up speed. I have a few pix if you interested, email me or post.
