  • Bullet muffler

So I'm planning on putting a dynomax bullet muffler in the I-pipe. I have a 2.5" I-pipe and got a 2.5" i.d. bullet. Will I need some kind of adapter to put it in, or should the bullet muffler be able to slide over the I-pipe?

mufflers and cats are 'oversized' on the end collars to fit OVER whatever ID pipe size they are...so yes...a 2.5" muffler will slip over 2.5 inch piping.

    mark your cut lines accordingly.

On the other hand, would it sound better to just put it in place of the cat, since there are no emissions in Wisconsin. I want it to be louder than just my flowmaster system and I don't want the rasp or popping. I've read that getting rid of the cat makes it more raspy. Will the bullet take it back to the same raspiness, or still make it have and even tone all the way through the powerband?

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

I've heard of it being put in place of the cat, but I don't know if it will sound better. I don't see why it wouldn't cut out the rasp and pops just as it would if it were in the I-pipe. If you wanna run no cat, it may be better to put the bullet in the I-pipe and just run a straight pipe in palce of the cat. Do some checking on that before you take action, though, I'm a novice with exhaust.

Would it really make any difference if I put it 12" inches farther back? I dont see how that would really change anything.

it's not a rice pipe, its a muffler similar to what is used in slp's loudmouth II system. Definately not a "fart cannon" v6ers use it to get rid of rasp in the exhaust.
