  • WILL THIS WORK FOR MY CAR

    WILL THE MANAFOLDS ON THE 2000 AND UP 3.8 FIT ON MY CAR(96 CAMARO 3.8) AND WILL IT HELP AT ALL.
    1996 CAMARO M5 3.8, SLP CAI, FLOWMASTER CAT BACK WITH 80 SERIES.<br />MODS ON THE WAY ZEXEL LSD, ONE PIECE DRIVESHAFT.

    They will fit. I'd guess you'd gain 2 rwhp...

              I couldn't tell you for sure since it's not something I've done myself, but back when the 00+ manifold swaps first started being done, I know that there were several posts by people who did it that said you needed to swap the Y-pipe also.

              You might check with Robert (FirebirdGT) and see if he knows.

              But I think it was something along the lines of the pre-'00 Y-pipes won't line up correctly.

                Why bother switching stock manifolds for stock manifolds? Seems pointless to me. All the 3.8L's are rated to the same hp... and I doubt putting manifolds from a newer car on would do a damned thing. If you want headers, get real aftermarket ones.

                    Yup, and that's really about the only improvement you'll get from headers either. (Running NA that is.)
