  • Headers and Cat?

    I am about to get a car-sound (magnaflow) hi flow cat on my firebird. i already have the slp cai, port n polished TB and 80 series flow, what kinda gains should i be able to look forward to in getting a set of headers, and the cat for that matter..?

    Up to 10 HP, little more torque and throttle response. Deeper/throatier sound, better fuel economy and a check engine light ;)

      10hp for what? cat? im use to the check engine light comin on anyways, so itd be nothing new. [img]smile.gif[/img]

            so...maybe not worth it to buy the headers. i think i'll just stick with the cat for now, because i need a new one. thanks guys

              im thinking about just taking off my whole cat-back (50lbs #) and just using my cutout.
              have my cutout tuned (LOL) so that as power increases it opens up and lets more air out. lol
              tell me im an idiot

                  sorry, i was thinking of puting the cutout on after the catalytic so you would still pass smog

                  seems like there wouldnt be much use for a cutout then LOL

                    it would be like an open down pipe setup like turbos use

                          id rather not remove the maf, it dosnt help the 96- crowd all that much, might sound cool, but does more harm than good.

                            hey everyone, im having some problems finding a high flow cat that is SMOG legal in Ca, for OBDII... i initially thought that the car-sound (magnaflow) 94000 series was legal (as per their site says its OBDII compatable) ...the local shop that i went to today said that they cant order it because its not legal because its not a 3 stage cat... does anyone know otherwise, and if i cant get this one, any other options...?
