  • o2 simulator still ses

I was driving without a rear o2 sensor on my 96 for about 2 months now. I just bought a o2 sim from thunder racing and put it on my car and unhooked the battery, but I still have the ses light. Is there a certain amount of time im supposed to drive for it to register?

When I would unplug my IAT sensor for a little bit, after I plugged it back in it took about 40 miles for the ses light to turn off.

there's a lot more the ses can be besides the o2 sensor. did you get your codes read? do you know that was the problem?

get the code cleared with a scanner then you'll be fine.

so your saying even though I may have fixed the problem, the ses may stay on until I get the code cleared?

Loochy88, I know what your saying, another thing could have set a code in the time I didn't have my o2 plugged in. I will get it scanned at autozone when I get a chance.

What he's saying is that you sure the SES light was for the O2 only??? You could have multiple codes. Also, it could just me more than the O2 sensor itself, such as the wiring harness.

Well I went to autozone, and I got two codes, both for the rear o2 sensor. One was for high voltage, the other for inactivity. This means that the wiring harness and sensor is hooked up right, or there would be no voltage. So there must be something wrong with the sim.

I have an appointment monday to get an o2 bung welded into my s-pipe, Maybe a real o2 sensor will get rid of the code.

Could the o2 sim for a 98-02 be a problem on a 96? It has the same square plug as the one on my car...
