I'm ordering Pacesetter Headers and an SLP Loudmouth Catback, so I'll be converting my exhaust system to 3" all the way.. To eliminate the bottleneck I need a 3" in/out cat.. I've heard Random Technology is the best, so I plan to get one of those.. The question is, which one should I get? A 3" one designed for a Z28? Or just a universal 3" in/out that's 11.5 inches long (this is the only length I can find on it...). If the length is too short it shouldn't be a problem right? I can always get a mechanic to weld some extra pipe on either end or something I would assume? Is this correct?
I just need some advice on what cat to get to keep it as simple as possible and try to eliminate paying for extra work to get it to fit... Thanks.
