ordered the FTRA kit what do you......

So i ordered the FTRA kit for my 99 bird, with this mod and if i get a Jet Stage II chip, will this help me out a lot. Will I notice a BIG gain or not?? :cool: :rolleyes:

Is your ram air hood functional on your car? Are you still going to have that open and add the FTRA? The fast WS6 cars around here aren't running one, they just have the stock set up. Actually I know that Kevin sold his FTRA when he went from a TA to a WS6.

If your hood isnt' functional do you have a Whisperlid or one like it yet? You'll notice a gain from just replacing your silencer and shaving off the fins. The FTRA will make a difference though. It cut .2 off Matt's time and combinced with replacing my cat and S pipe with a 3" pipe, it cut .3 off my time.

The Jet chip is questionable. The next time I go out and time my car I'll make a few runs and then yank it and see if it makes a difference but I'm timid to because it's such a pain to put back in. I'll also be running on Premium which it won't be able to take advantage of so it might slow down due to that.

As for the next mod I would suggest that would be only for track and maybe deserted street use, I would get one of those electric cut outs and put it before the cat. Good luck trying to find a shop to do it for you. If you cut it out and clamped it in there though, a back ally shop they would surely weld it and replace the clamps. That's how I got mine done eventually. With those two mods you would really notice a difference at the top end but with your car having the 3.08 gears it might kill your launch but probably still make you faster over all.
