  • Z28 MUFFLER on a 3.8, GOOD or BADD?????

My B&B muffler isn't working out well for me on my 2002 3.8 V6, I don't like the sound & I think it's prolly losing torque because it's off an LS1 & isn't the 3.8 model. I'm going to take it off the 3.8 & use it on a Z28. (I bought the B&B used & it's for a V8, so probably be best if the B&B is used on the Z28 anyway.)

I have the stock 2001 Z28 Muffler I could use on the 3.8, how good (or bad) will the stock Z28 muffler sound on my 3.8, & how good (or bad) does it flow? Any performance gains to be had using the stock Z28 muffler on a 3.8, or does it sound funky, too quiet, or ricey?

    Thanks...

I have the stock z28 pipe from the cat back 2.75 pipe with the muffler and tips and it made me 2 tenths faster in the 1/4 and there is no rice sound buzz.

I plan on changing out this muffler to the spintech muffler. Even the hot rod shop here says they took off their borla and put this muffler on and gained 8 hp Spintech cancel's out the rice resonation .

    z28 muffler = good

If you dont have a cold air intake system that is what you really need to go along with any exhaust work. More air in more air out = more power
