Would it be worth my time to invest in a custom Y pipe coming off each tubular manifold to the cat, or would that be pointless? I was wondering if it might offer some gains...

hey cardinal, what it is! i was thinking about the same thing for my girlfriends car. i don't think she needs headers but, everything after that should be worth something. what is stock y pipe size? 2 1/4 in.? i think going to the next biggest size like 2.5 in. would make a smooth transition and still keep velocity up. waddya fink.

I was just thinking a smoother transition through the Y might be just as good as shorty headers - since the shorty headers are not "tuned" length or anything anyways.

The stock Y-pipe is 2" I believe because mine is a 2.25 and I know it was 1/4 inch larger than the factory when I had it made...
