ok so you all are saying your exhaust doesnt move at all? like if you push on your tips it doesnt move?? im sorry i was misinterpreting everyone but it would seem with rubber hangers they would move and that would be the purpose, if you all have rubber hangers and the dont move none then i guess i do have a problem i have seen the hangers under there and they seem pretty stiff but what the hangers are too just causes a sway like if you hit them or try to move them, also i believe mine moves around when i am on the road etc etc

put a universal hanger on each side.

      go here http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/exhaust-overview.htm

and check out figure 2 about 2/3rds of the way down the page.

these things are $3 a piece.

Chet - by any chance is what you AREN'T saying is that you are getting mad banging around under there when you hit road ruts etc? I have brand new rubber hangars and my pipes sway just enough for the passenger pipe to hit the body and the over axle pipe to bottom/bang when I hit potholes etc.
The noise was driving me nucking futz after two days! I (like you) took it to a second shop and said "the first shop was lazy - please fix" "The second shop said "you're a sucker, $40 please". Long story short - I got under there with 1.5"x1/4" HD double stick tape and foil and fixed all my contact points myself. Peace and quiet... well, except for the exhaust itself. Hey - it has worked so far. The heavy duty thick tape that comes on a giant coil with backing on one side. It will even stick to underbody that has been coated. Then make sure that any part that rides close to the pipe has several layers of folded foil pressed to the pipe side as a heat shield so no melting. I took some of the most lunar landscape looking roads in my town for testing and never heard metal on metal clank again. ~ rhodey

Dude, i know what you are speaking of. i have/had the sway thing. instead of welding, try making custom hangers out of something like sheet metal or plastic, maybe wood. i went with sheet metal and platic cusions. it works like a champ. hope this helps at all
