Whats the loudest muffler? I did a search and everyone says cutout. I would, but no shops here will do it, so whats the LOUDEST muffler setup? I dont got that much cash at the moment, about a normal widened pipes and muffler/tip. think its about 400 i can waste.

Well expect to hear alot of people say flowmaster. They are loud indeed but sound quialty is a different story. Of couse the loudest muffler would be no muffler at all. :D

Why do you want loud???
Loudest would either be slp resonator or glass pack.
Both of which would most likely make you go slower.
Edlebrock works fine for me

Local exhaust shop shouldn't charge you more than $60-80 for install

Well mine is pretty good at setting off car alarms but it wasn't near this loud when it was just the cat back. Matt's is pretty loud with just an cutout before the muffler and leaving it open. Quality of sound is way different though. Everything sounds good untill you hit high rpm's and then mine sounds like crap but I like the power gain still. Just wish I could get the SES light to go off.

Lol, just take a hack saw and cut off your muffler :D :D
No muffler shops will install a cutout for you!? Will they just not MAKE it or not INSTALL it?! I don't see why they wouldn't install it if you ordered one. I'd go back again and ask them if you purchased a cutout, will they install it? And if they give you trouble about it, just tell them it'll be used only on the dragstrip or some sh*t. If you want sound, a cutout is the way to go. I absolutely love the sound mine puts out. I'm assuming you have stock pipes, so www.quicktimeperformance.com is the only place I've seen that sells a 2.25" FlowTech cutout btw.

tell the exhaust shop you take the car to the track & need the cutout, they shouldn't refuse the labor.

Funny, when I had my flowmaster the high RPMs in gear sounded great - riced out only when in neutral and revved... as expected.
Are you running a cat, or are you !cat? You said "Well mine is pretty good at setting off car alarms but it wasn't near this loud when it was just the cat back" so what have you done to make it more than just a catback?
My custom high flow cat involves a 3" pipe and the outside of the cat welded around it. I also made a 3" S pipe. The only restriction in my exhaust is the muffler.
I think my exhaust used to sound incredible. Better sounding than just a flowmaster muffler becaue of the 3" I pipe and better than B&B Triflow. Or possibly I couldn't here it because we were racing and he was behind me, anyways, when he reved at the light I thought mine sounded better back before the cat and S pipe mod. The guy with the Triflow even thought mine sounded good. A guy on a motorcycle chased me down one day just to ask what exhaust system I had.
Now the sound at idle is incredible as well as going through the lower rpms, wish I could make a recording of it and post it on my website. The power really takes hold at the higher rpms and the sound totally changes. Actually when I'm at a race track with a bunch of loud cars I think mine sounds great but around quite cars the high rpm buz is horrible.
