  • my day of defeat... no more loudmouth :(

Today when I came downstairs my parents told me I needed to fix my car. I thought they were talking about the slow oil leak (not even a drop a day) but then they spoke about noise. I got confused until they said you need a muffler. They want me to get rid of the loudmouth As the conversation continued I was like well are you gonna buy me a new exhaust syatem, they said they would help So my first thought... BORLA! So right now I'm not sure how to think of it. I'm gonna miss the loudmouth dearly. Hope the borla sounds nice on a v6 or I'll cry. This is my day of defeat with the loudmouth. I'll be putting it for sale once I buy another exhaust.
Now that I think about it I think borla may be too expensive and I don't think my parents will help too much. I'm about to check out the sound clip sticky because I have a video of one like I just don't remember which system it was.

Umm, they are gonna be pissed after they spend $700 on a Borla that is nearly as loud as a loud mouth.

Don't think I'm gonna be getting borla and even if I did I'd get the adjustable to make the parents happy.

Yikes the exhuast that I heard and liked is flowmaster 2.5" american thunder. I'm scared of changing to 2.5" because I love the 3" top end gain. Then again I hate the noise that 3" makes up top. I liked it with loud mouth because it sounded like a damn indy car or fighter jet. The other seem a bit ricey to me. Ugh! Why did they have to do this to me!

do a freaking search if its a catback or not. why would you inquire about buying something if you have no clue what it is?

You have a couple of other options you could consider before you buy a whole new catback system. First of all, that resonator that comes with the loudmouth, although Im sure it works some, could be replaced. Options could include:

                part #'s for www.summitracing.com

24" Summit Smooth Tube 3" Muffler - SUM-630630 - Would definately quiet that sucker down a bunch being with how long the muffler is, also is straight through and 3".

Flowmaster 1-Chamber Race Muffler - FLO-9430109 - This should also quiet it down more than a resonator would, could be an option.

Edelbrock Victor Series Muffler - EDL-55381 - Never heard one of these, but it is a race muffler meant to let lots of air past with less noise.

Any of these could very well quiet the system down a lot if you replaced the resonator with one of them, assuming you keep the cat on there. If you want a new catback system, I would highly recommend the 3" Hooker AeroChamber Catback, I have it and I love the sound, unfortunately I don't have a soundclip though. I got the one made for the 93-95 LT1 single cat, it is 3", aluminized steel, and the y-pipe has the s-pipe already formed into it, you just gotta add a small piece of 3" pipe to go to your cat. Price is around $300 from www.fasttoys.net, here's a pic: http://static.summitracing.com/globa...ok-16827_m.jpg

Pretty much any 3" 93-95 lt1 catback will have the s-pipe built into it, only differences are hangar locations i believe and some minor modifications, but like I said, I bought the 93-95 lt1 aero chamber catback and I love it.
