i have heard that the gaskets that come with the pacesetter headers are S%#@
my question is will factory gaskets fit paccesetter headers? would it be a good idea to buy a new set of gaskets? where, and what type should i get?
i should be ordering headers sometime next week, I finally got a little bit of cash to spend!!!
K&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money
i ended up throwing mine away, probably more because i thought i heard a leak than because it was actually leaking. i just went to the parts store, got some rubberized gasket paper, and cut my own.

You heard wrong.
yep, common mistake....but still a mistake
No problem with my pacesetter gaskets yet, I did use some gasket sealer when I put them on (not sure if that helped or was even necessary). Ohh yeah, and I read somewhere that you should soak them in water the night before you put them on (I did that too).

did i get my facts straight this time?

Mine pacesetter gaskets worked good. They didnt leak but after about 15,000 miles my driver side blew out and passenger side after a little while after.
I have felpro'd now and they tick away leaking. If you cake them in gasket sealer and let them set up for a little while before putting them back on you can keep them from leaking.
Does anyone know where i can get some more pacesetter gaskets? part number or link?

ok guys, 2 questions..... 1) so those flimsy pacesetter gasket do work? I bought the stock 3-ply metal ones from NAPA with the intention of installing them, but if the concensus is that they aren't necessary I won't... and 2) if I use that ultra-copper sealer around the EGR will that work?
