Thanks

I have a 2000 firebird with borla I put it on before I did anything to the intake and it sounded the same as after I put in slp cai and removed the silencer. I have the adjustable borla for the trans am though

I also put it on before I did any induction work... and also didn't notice a difference

I haven't tried it, but if you run it with the plate wide open, it shouldn't sound that ricey at higher rpm's

Swap your borla for a spintech, and keep the adjustable tips. Then you'd have an adjustable spintech!!!

I have a flowmaster, I know it's not a Borla and I dought that it matters, but I had the same problem and the ricey sound went away after I put headers on. I don't know how big your I pipe is but you might want to try a bigger I pipe too, it will give you a deeper and louder sound, make it sound like an 8. That's what everyone thinks I have, even car guys think it's an 8.

hey dude...yeah I had the same rice-a-roni sound coming from my exhaust too at first, but since I have the adjustable exhaust all I did was put the wide-open baffle on. and after I had problems with my catalytic converter (see "Clogged Cat Converter") I was forced to gut the cat and hollow it out, and now my exhaust sounds very throaty...kinda like an 8 :D so if you dont have the adjustable cat-back, get yourself a Flow-tech exhaust cutout and slap that sucker on there and bypass the muffler lol well...headers and hollowing out the cat will definitly help the sound too fluffy likes it

Only way you'll get any real relief from the sound and gain some performance is to port the heads, CAM, Rockers, headers, and a 3" cat converter. More air flow will will help.
