So when it rains, i put the block off plate on, so then where does the air come from?? Would it be safe, or would it hurt my engine to leave the plate on all winter through the snow??

There is a sealing strip in the very front under the air box, the air box kinda lift up and i think that is where the air went in, but with that strip sealing everything off, where the heck is air supposed to get in??99 Firebird Vert, Pewter Metalic
Fast Toys Ram Air
Jet Stage 2 Chip
17x8 Mille Miglia Emotion II Plus\'
wrapped in 245/35/17 Yokohama A520
Rhino Perf. hey shortdog273, is that recommended, how did you learn that?? Was it in your intructions, cuz it wasnt in mine. Why do you have to remove the rubber seal?99 Firebird Vert, Pewter Metalic
Fast Toys Ram Air
Jet Stage 2 Chip
17x8 Mille Miglia Emotion II Plus\'
wrapped in 245/35/17 Yokohama A520
Rhino Perf. its common sense..air has to get in some way..with the rubber thing blockin the front of the lid it draws the air from the scoop and with the scoop blocked off it will pull the air through the front of it

Yes, just remove that rubber block off if you need to block the ram air off. But I have driven in several inches of snow with mine, it was never a problem. Now water I worry about sometimes, but not snow really. But it never snows here much...www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

i dont put the block off plate on when it rains like hell and i dont even know what snow looks like.. it was pouring the other day..i drove to work through many puddles and then when i got to work it wasnt raining there so i decided to pop the hood and see if the filter was wet...well there wasnt a drop on there...nor in the upper portion of the kit..
screw the block off plate..lose that useless piece

Actually when it's raining extremely hard I usually just pull out that front rubber seal. I figure that cancels out any air preasure that the rain air is creating. I was going to stick the block off plate in the glove box for when it rained but the thing was too big, oh well.1997 Nassau Blue Vette
1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 (lifted with 31\" tires)
2000 V6 Camaro, loud, cammed 210rwhp *SOLD*
