Knocking off all those flaps and getting pvc pipe is ghetto. You have to take around 1-2 hours to sand down where you broke those flaps off to get the lid to be as smooth as an aftermarket lid. It just seems to me like a lot of trouble then it doesn't look as good to me as an aftermarket lid lol call me picky. With a wisper lid design there seems to be less air turbulence in the intake.

A $4 piece of PVC accomplishes exactly what I want until my Volant ram air intake shows up, in which case I will not need a lid *at all*. Keep in mind there are options other than lids (and not everyone wants to drop 160 bucks on a piece of plastic ;) ) Also, if you aren't a slacker (such as I), ideally, you would paint your PVC black, the accent color of your car, or even the body color to make it look "less Ghetto" ;)
