a. Doesn't throw codes
b. Many of us live in states with emissions testing
c. We don't like stinky cars (no cat makes exhaust smell much stronger)
d. Stay legal
e. It's such a small thing to do for better air quality. If you got 5hp burning leaded gas and it was still available, would you choose to keep throwing lead in the air too?

i am curious, why do you guys all go to great lengths to get a good cat when all you have to do is gut the one you already have? what is the problem with just gutting it and welding it back on?

Drivetrain Moderator - "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!"

Have you installed it yet? I'm started to get a rattle (I think from my exhaust) and I'm going to be getting a high flow cat now. Did you install it yourself? Weld or clamp? Performance? Sound? Smell? Update please!
btw, do high flow cats hurt passing emissions?94 Camaro 3.4 A4
T-Tops
In the process of an LS1 swap.

Yes, it is installed. I did it myself, but I temporarily clamped it on because I'm buying an "I" pipe from Firefighter (member here), and I didn't want to weld everything inplace just yet. I felt a minor performance boost at first, then I was entering Interstate 95 once, and that's when I noticed the difference -above 3k rpm's. :D
Also, the sound seemed to get louder as a few days passed. Someone here told me that it had a "burn-in period". But now it sounds great, especially when I step on it
Very minor smell at first, but it only lasted about an hour, now it's odor free.
Not sure about the emissions though, I'm kinda curious about that myself. My Inspection Mechanic told me there should be no problems with it at all.
Oh, and no SES light with this Carsound Cat either
I'm very pleased with it (so far).
