  • What do I do?

I was replacing my starter and i couldn't get it out since the y-pipe was in the way.So i began to take off the nut of the bolt but it wouldn't go. So my dumbass put all my force into it and the freaking bolt broke! The bolt broke just before the hole but its still in place. What do i do? By the way it sounds nasty as hell.Bytheway, its a 1995 Birdie with a 3.4 engine.

I broke a bolt off my cat converter flange when I took it off to gut it and all I did was cut the broke peice down flush the flange and just drilled it out and put a bolt with some washers and a nut in its place. Works just as good, or at least it did for me. You can grind it down with a grinder if you can get to it or take a dremel with a cut-off wheel and cut it off flush then drill it.

stop! the easiest way is to buy a cam type stud remover. it will lock in, then put a ratchet on it and twist that sucker out!

In the military we called those reverse twist devices "EZ Outs". Drill a smaller hole into the bolt and start twisting the EZ Out in counterclockwise when it bottoms out it bites down. With the bolt no longer having tension it backs out - easy. ~ rhodey
