  • Changed to DynoMax

I just changed from a 80 series flowmaster(becuase of a crack in the muffler) to DynoMax catback system Man what a difference theres no I mean No Rice sound at all at Idle it sounds like a 8 and when u get on it it sounds great even at 5000rpm.But what I was really looking for was Slp Loudmouth catback but the dealers never heard of it is it becuaseI live in canada or I just live in a small town? but anywho DynoMax is a good buy :D

yep Dynomax is a great muffler and I enjoyed it when I had it. My only gripe is that it wasn't loud enough and it's idle was barely audible. Flowmaster 80 sounds really gurggly/muscular/sloppy sounding but it makes it sound all that much better. Yes I'll agree Dynomax sounds better on topend.

Whcih DynoMax catback you using firebird? Do they make one specifically for our v6's? Part number might be handy... I'm trying to decide between dyno and flow... but haven't been able to find too much about dyno... any help appreciated...

            I just put on a DynoMax )2.5 in and 2- 2.5's out).
What a diffrence from the single stock setup.
For the first few days i thought the back end was on fire.Other cars in trafic (when we stoped) said that my car was bruning.I must of stoped 4~5 times to check it out.All if fine.
The shop said the DynoMax will have to "Burn"in for a few days.
The sound also changed alot when it was burning in.

The only Dynomax catbacks I can find are for the v8's, is that what you have?? Part number?

Just do what I did. Buy the muffler and have someone customly set it up for you. Parts/labor for everything came out to about $400 for the muffler, catback, cat, and I couldn't beat that.

dyno9max on a v6 sounds much better and less ricey than blowmaster. blowmaster sounds good on the v8 but if you like having your fbody sounding like the 4 cylinder civics with fartcans thats up to you

I wouldn't say that. I don't get nothing but compliments with my flowmaster unlike the dynomax I had. But, my system is 3" all the way back with a highflow cat, so that helps alot. ;)

I don't agree. Every V6 sounds like a 4cyl civic on topend...or for a better choice of words...high pitched. There is NO WAY you are going to change that. Flowmaster and Dynomax are both EXCELLENT mufflers but they are meant to please two different types of people.

Dynomax - nice sounding, top end gives "exotic" type sound, however it's not too loud

Flowmaster - V8 rumbly at low end, top end can get a tad "harsh" with stock catback, it's very loud and very "gurggly" It's meant to give a rough sound to the car.

Personally I like Flowmaster better...Dynomax just wasn't loud to me.
