Does anyone have just a 80 series Flow muffler on their car? If so, what does it sound like? I have a 2001 Firebird. Thanks.

If you're going just muffler I'd go with dynomax. I've heard both (without full exhaust) and I like my dynomax alot better. Some people will disagree, just comes down to personal prefrence.

DON'T waste your money on a Flowmaster. I love their products, but the 80 series sounds like crap on a cracker on our cars.

Your flowmaster won't sound as good with just the muffler alone. Now with a bigger I pipe, high flow cat and whisper lid, it will sound a hell of alot better. I get nothing but compliments. However, the dynomax does sound good, but it just wasn't deep and loud enough for me.

Actually I do have a whisper lid and cold air induction, so would I be better off getting the whole exhaust.

FYI he wasn't asking about a catback and a high flow, he was asking about just the muffler on the stock exhaust system.

I'm wondering too what it will sound like, I just want it loud and deep, which plain muffler will give me that?

Sure..Post a soundclip. I've had a flowmaster before my dynomax with stock pipes and cat and I didn't get the same sound.

If just the muffler I would (and have ;) ) go with the 40 Delta Series, it quieter but rids some of the raspiness in the upper r's. Plus, a lot of people on here seem to like the B&B, and the Delta sounds much like the B&B, only not as deep and gurgly at idle.

                      Haven't heard dynomax.

But it would've sounded even greater with a bigger I pipe and high flow cat. ;) Bliggida, I'll catch up with you on that clip later.
