ok, I'm confuseled!?!

I'm lookin' at ordering up the Flowmaster American Thunder catback for my '02 Firebird. On the Summit Racing site, they have the system(part # Flo-17358) for just $296.39. On the Flowmaster site, they have the same system (part # 17358) for $464.95. So, why such a different price?? Is there a difference between the two systems? A different muffler? Are they made with different materials? Are they both manderal bent? The only difference I could see is the part #'s:

Summit: flo-17358
Flowmaster: 17358

Is the system from Summit a knock-off of Flowmaster, and does Summits' system come with the tips that read "Flowmaster" on them?

Sorry for 1,000 q's, but I don't understand.

MSRP, manufactures suggested retail price.....thats all there is to it on the flowmaster site. doesnt mean anything, other companies have to lower the prices to make it competitive.

i work for a GM dealership in parts wholesale. When dealing parts you have to be competative in your priceing or people will go some where else. like for instance the average mark up on a GM part at list price is 67% over cost. but to people we know or freqently do business with the mark up is 15-25%.

i am sure summit racing buys lots of diffrent parts from flowmaster so therefore summit can offer a discount to us to prevent us from going else where
