  • Where to go from here...

Just got back from the shop

My cat rattles, i need a new one.

On a college student's budget, i'm not excited to pay 700$ for a new cat from Aamco.

So what do you guys think... should i get a new one and throw it on myself, try to get a hi-flow somewhere, or just eliminate the cat all together.

Yes, in Illinois we have emissions tests, which i just passed

$700 for a cat is insane ESPECIALLY when you can get a Hi Flow one for maybe a quarter of that price... I say Hi-Flow or Eliminate...

That exhaust shop is ripping you off. When my stock cat blew on my 3.4L it only cost about $200 for a new one w/ install. Find a different shop... preferably one that won't rip you off.
