since i was rear ended..and im getting it fixed very shortly. im just gonna cut off the muffler and run open st8 pipe..
since where the muffler is connected to the i pipe..its mad kinked.. im gonna cut it there. i figure all that backpressure isnt good for the valves.
any peformance gains/loss by doing this..
remember. i have a bent up S PIPE, BENT UP I PIPE, and a basically nearly clogged cat.. lol.

You are SOOOOO wrong! Tyler, go ahead and do it, and post back here. All of my exhaust behind the cat has been ct off and thrown away for some time now. I'm not sure if cutting everything off BEFORE the cat will sound any different, but EVERYONE including some members here that have heard my car say it sounds awsome. Waaay better than a Slowmaster 80 series. TriFlo99's exhaust sounds similar to mine, but mine is alot deeper at low RPM's.
Mine is cut off right behind the cat, and a turndown is welded where the "S" pipe used to be. ALL 3.8's sound like a pissed off weedeater at high RPM's but my setup sounds damn good up to 3500rpms. Really down low it sounds just evil. I can hear it running inside the store if I pop in for a Coke and leave it on.
Won't make any difference before the cat? Whoaaa, the cat makes all the difference in the world. If you take that exhaust system off you are going to regret it, leave it on then go get it fixed. Your gonna cut everything off and your not gonna be able to get it back on right then your gonna be without a car because I know there is no way you'll drive your car like that everywhere. It sounds like a freakin mack truck. It's the worst sound I ever heard in my life. It sounds worse then a rice rocket, it sounds like a cross between a winston cup wannabe at idle, and it sounds like a mack truck when your giving it gas.

I 2nd that! I cut mine off and what Ted said is pretty much true.Don't do it, just fix it.
LoL, who cares, if u gotta fix it run it open for a few days =D. Its fun to be loud sometimes and it gives u a demo of how loud it can be and weither or not u like / can handle it. Bunch of babies.
I did mine today. Going back tomorrow and having SOMETHING else done. Anything. It is soooooo farking loud, I can't even describe it. It was so loud, itscared me the first time I nailed it! :D
