Alright I have black smoke coming out of my stock exhaust system. All I did was change the driveshaft, put 160 degree thermostat and hypertech programming in it. What might be the problem of getting this black smoke

black/bluish smoke means oil. Check for oil leaks. Is there any oil under your car where you park? -

black smoke is fuel smoke. The 160 T-stat will make it run richer, could be causing it. Nope. Many people here have them. Opens sooner to keep your temps down, therefore giving you more HP because cooler engine = denser (more air) = more hpOriginally posted by Britni:

I need to get one before it gets too hot. I guess it's already too late for that, though. It felt like it was 100 this weekend.
I have a question too, though. Does this happen to everyone that gets a thermostat? How do you fix it?
