The fines are what scare me from not ditching the cat. Otherwise I don't care. I figure both ways i have to get a o2 sim. I figure in the long wrong it might be a good idea to have the cat. I don't hav emision testing and i can save 50 bucks by not buying a cat. What would you guys do?

im having the same decision right now, im getting a catco... its only 50 bux, and i see you have headers?? the main reason im going with a cat, is because i just ordered the cia headers and with the borla and no cat, my exhaust would be unbearably loud, it will still be super loud with the catco, but at least ill be able to hear the radio when im on the highway cruisin at 70.later,<br />alan<br />1999 bright red v6<br />3800 series III<br />208\\210 comp cam<br />3000 stall edge tc

ya iam getting the pacesetter headers on as soon as i get them. I think the resinator on the flowmaster will help me alot. I think most logically i should get the catco, but i want to be as loud as possible lol. How much more hp will i see not having the cat though? Probally not much, hmm decions decions.
Whats the odds of a cop looking for a cat anyway? I wouldn't think it be that high at all. I don't think thats the main concern.1999 Pontiac Trans Am M6 Far from stock.....

CamaroRob - I think you'll see a bigger gain without the cat, i don't have one on now and it's true that I do loose a lot of low end, but the top end is so much better. My friend with the 02 y87 with a 3in flowmaster catback, i use to race and he'd take me 2 car lengths cuz of the gears. I raced him recently from a roll, and if you gave me to about 100 i think I could of been right next to his car. As for the cops looking down, what are the odds of cops driving next to me and see my muffler connected directly to the y-pipe with a turnoff to the side? And yes it's very noticeable. It's up to you, but personally I would never put a cheap *** catco on my car again.

I dont know how the catco sounds but adding the straight pipe to my exhaust really made a huge differance for me. I like driving slow and barely tapping the gas so I can here that deep growl.
