ok im working under my car right now and all and im curious to those who have installed them..how exactly you cut the y pipe away...im havin a difficult time trying to get the pipe cut being underneath the car and all...Thanks please post as soon as possible

Use a tubing cutter or a hot wrench (torch). That's pretty cool that you have a computer under your car by the way.

I removed the y-pipe and s pipe all at the same time. Much easier to cut outside the car....of course I ran an open y pipe down to the exhaust shop because I got a catco installed at the same time.

i just made 2 cuts. i cut after the over axle pipe to drop the muffler... and i cut RIGHT before the over axle pipe. then i just unscrewed the connectors and slid it out.. i had to remove that black thing which supports the i pipe tho.. had no problem at all

well so far i got the y pipe cut and the o2 sim out now im working on the y pipe connection to the exhaust manifolds..its a pain but its going to be worth it..ya a computer under the car is helpful lol. Back to work and will be back to post how its going

alrite the y pipe is off and now i have gotten the heat shields off...right now im curious on hard it is to get the bolts connecting to the manifold itself off?

well i got the y pipe off and now all the heat shields off and now im going to wait till 2morrow to take off both manifolds...open ended headers sounds bad *** though

It does....but there is no low end torque and it shook my car at anything over 2K RPM.

yup no low end torque at all...but i had fun with it..my neighbors didnt like it to much, but i hope everything goes good went i try to take the old exhaust manifolds off.

How much am i supposed to retorpue the new header bolts?

what u need to do is torque them down real good the first time. (always carry around an 11mm open end wrench with you) then drive around for about 15 min. put on some heat retardent gloves, and retorque them. do this periodically for the next week or so.
i retightened mine 5 times a day for 7 days.. now i cant budge them :D

My bolts are 7/16". But I did the same...just keep retightening them after every drive for a week. I found I could move them some still after a 5 hour drive.

thats weird.. cause i just checked to see how tight mine were, and they are 11mm....
