I have a buddy of mine putting in my SLP CAI Since I am away on business.....Its a 96 3.8
He keeps calling me saying that the CAI does not fit right...That the edge of the CAI is hitting the TB....
is this common? I thought this was a direct bolt on? I will be home this coming Friday so I will stop by and look at the setup myself but if anyone has experienced this please chime in

It is a direct bolt-on. If he is saying the pipes are hitting the TB then he doesn't have the CAI sitting right. The cones should be completely inside the airbox space and the mounting brackets should line up perfectly.
It does come with some instructions.....
If you get the filters in anywhere near the correct location, you will notice how the mounting bracket slides into the clips. Once you slide the bracket in, its in. Then you just have to fight the rubber elbow on and your done.
