Hey! I'm swapping to a V8 in a year or two, but I decided to do a little exhaust work for the hell of it I'm thinking about buying a catco cat wiht a 2.5 in. in and 2.5 in. out, put a 2.5in. right after it, then have it go back to the stock exhaust. What do you guys think? Will it sound ok? Any performance gains? Thanks!

My bad, its late
Isn't the stock exhaust ona 97 3.8 v6 camaro 2.5" til the cat, then down to 2.25"? is this correct? If yes, I was thinking about putting a new freeflowing cat in, with a 2.5" inlet (of course) and a 2.5" outlet that goes straigt into a cutout. Then after the cutout go back down to the stock exhaust size. Does that make sense? lol RedLineVSix
95 Patriot Red Trans Am, M6, 3.42\'s,no rear tires
(SOLD!)97 Silver Camaro 3.8 Liter A4 3.42 + LSD, 1pc DS, and one messed up speedo :)

Yeah, that would work fine. I don't know how much difference you will tell like that, but it will make for less plumbing issues during construction. Good idea...- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

First off, the catco on a v8 sounds crappy, you can't hear it on a v6 too well but it does seem to give it a cheap sound, as for the 2.5in/out, why? because the inlet is 3in, get a 3in/2.5out, if you do want to get one buy the 6007 w/o the airtube (You dont' need the 6907 w/ the airtube) personally I'd check the Random Technologies Cat out it sounds better on the LT1s and it is a little more expensive but you might as well do it right the first time.
