Yes.. I have read the multiple previous posts on the topic of which is better, a flowmaster or a magnaflow. However, they do not seem to find a common understanding. I have my mind set on the magnaflow, but before I make a purchase I later regret, I will ask for some opinions. Preferably the opinions of those who own a Magnaflow, but all others are welcome. On top of that, I'm planning to get a new cat. Any recommendation on which cat I should get, or anything else I need to install the magnaflow will be greatly appreciated. It's the magnaflow which can be found under exhaust after going into the provided link http://www.fasttoys.net/9398fbodyframes.html
Thanks for everyone's help beforehand,
Fred

I could never find a sound clip of the Magnaflow, but nevertheless I had it whittled down to Edelbrock or MF before deciding on the EB. I do like the fact that the MF is stainless steel and not coated, and it comes with tips. I wanted something with 3" pipes though (altho I guess I could have just ordered the MF V8 version), plus the EB was $100 cheaper. I'm getting a MF cat though, possibly tips.

Thanks for the response... How do you like your exhaust setup? Anyone else willing to help me out or is that the only person on this forum?

Personal opinion from hearing Magnaflow personally. I wouldn't get it, but that's me.

I just got my MagnaFlow up on myfirebird last wednesday dude, and I love it. There was a camaro getting a flowmaster put on at the same time, and when they were done, we both went outside to see whos was louder. And my magnaFlow was much deeper, i'm not gonna lie it doesn't sound like a V8 but nothing does. It's really nice on my 3.8 and if you got it i'm sure you'd be happy. If you have any questions send me a mail. I dont' have any sound clips yet, i'm still working on gettin my car back. It's been in and out of every shop around, getting alarms, stereo's and kits, and painting. I'm hoping to have it all done by June 1st.

I want to know where I can get the rear pipes and tips like that. I am not a fan of the magnaflow muffler, but those rear section pipes are awesome.

I have a magnaflow on my 96 3.8 and i have loved it since the day i got it...it really does have a deep tone to it...although it doenst sound like a v8 but nothing does so who cares. Every muffler in the high rpms doesnt sound good so i hope that your not expectin to much. My friend has a 5.0 mustang and he says it sounds like a roaring lion although maybe that is just becuz he doenst want to hurt my feelings...who knows

I just have the standard MF stainless muffler. The exhaust note isn't rice, but you can tell at high rmps it's a six. Still sounds better than a SS maro at idle, louder too! Basiclly It sound like a Nissan 300ZX or 350Z in the upper ranges. All v6 engines have there own sound like v8's and i4 engines have there own distinkt sound. I bought my muffler based on performance not sound. Nothing like a legal straight pipe. Straight through performance baby!
