  • borla install question -- hanging the tips

i got my borla used so i didnt exactly have any instructions when i did the install. its not overly complicated. however, the tips appear to have flanges for hangers and it appears that the tips would like to hang from the bolts holding the rear fascia in place. i hacked up some 'universal' exhaust hangers -- it seems right but i was wondering what the install guide reccomends (assuming there actually is one). i would prefer the tips to be a little more 'under the car' so i might hang them from the unibody a bit further up.

my old exhaust was a flowmaster 80 (cut it off by hand -- a little hint, its slightly faster to remove the exahust hangers to install/remove the rubber isolators) and the tips didnt hang from the body. of course, the slash cut didnt weigh two pounds either.

I bought mine new, and the instructions only showed how the pieces fit to each other. They didn't show how anything mounted to the car though...

I hung my tips from the fascia mounting points too. Seems like I had to drill one hole off to the side just a little because it didn't quite match up.

      ok -- thanks.

neither tip seems to be really under the fascia bolts. but this does seem to help keep the whole thing from swaying left and right.
